The water wash or machine is not advisable because some colors may bleed and look of the felt is changed to dry.

For "felting" your felt, dip each sheet quickly in cold water (be careful, some colors disgorge!).
Remove excess water without wringing and dry 25 minutes on a gentle cycle in dryer.
